FEMI FANI-KAYODE’S IGNORANT, DELUSIVE ANTI- ISRAEL OBSESSION—Why the Igbo are Ready to Fight for the Jews and Nigerian Christians Stand with Israel against Hamas

I read Femi Fani-Kayode’s recent two humongous obsessive anti-Israel tirades with ravenous distaste, if not for any other reason but for the height of cultic ignorance in a man whose obsessive distaste of the Jews and the fact that the Igbo of Nigeria are unquestionably pro-Jewish and pro-Israel, is fast turning him into cataclysmic political insanity, even though he professes to be a Christian.

His outbursts did not however come as a surprise because Femi Fani-Kayode was one of the top APC top officials who secretly met with the senior Hamas leader Ghazi Hamad who recently visited Nigeria last February, to devise means of advancing further for Hamas through organized pro-Palestinian demonstrations in Nigeria. Unfortunately this plan is currently obstructed with the increasing masses’ anger over hunger and shortage of food. The point should be made that Mr. Femi Fani-kayode desperately needs political appointment from the pariah President of Nigeria Alhaji Ahmed Bola Tinubu, and thus he is willing to do any dirty job for the Muslim Federal Government of Nigeria for the sake of that.

The point however is that Femi Fani-Kayode disgustedly spoke from acute ignorance of both the history of Arab relations with Black Africa and the Middle East conflict. The fundamental inference of this ignorance came from his first interview in which he stated:

“Our independence means nothing as long as our Arab brothers are under yoke of Israeli bondage. We will stand with them any day and anytime to fight that bondage.”

Well, without prodding into the identity of the people with whom Femi Fani-Kayode stated in his “we will stand with them any day and anytime to fight that bondage”, I wish to remind Femi Fani-Kayode that the question of Israel-Palestinian conflict is not about his “Arab brothers’ being under the “yoke of Israeli bondage” as he put it, because the State of Israel remains the only democracy in the entire Arab Middle East and North Africa with unlimited freedom for all her citizens without racial, ethnic or religious boundaries; but that of Palestinian and Hamas atrocious determination to exterminate the Jews as a people; ironically, the same people who survived over two thousand years of bondage, oppression, pogroms, racial abuse under the vile stigma of Anti-Semitism and Holocaust. Femi Fani-Kayode in his ignorance should go and ask what “Auschwitz” means to the Jews, to the State of Israel, to the world, and to every freedom-minded human on this mother-earth.

It is instructive to point out that while Armenia gave the world the meaning of “Genocide”, and Black race gave the world the meaning of “racism”, the Jews gave the world the meanings of “Bondage”, “Exodus” (Search for Freedom), “Pogrom”, “Holocaust”, and “Anti-Semitism.” Without the existence of the Jews and the State of Israel today on the present landmark of ancient Israel, to most Christians, Christianity would have remained a fable.

The existence of the Jews and the State of Israel today is therefore the cimen fondu of the Christian faith and identity; and those who crave for the extermination of the Jews and destruction of the State of Israel can never be the true brothers or friends of Nigerian Christians, Black Africans, and the Igbo of Nigeria in particular. Needles to re-emphasize that the Jews and the State of Israel have never been the aggressors against the Arabs and Palestinians; rather the Arabs and Palestinians have always been the aggressors.

The heinous act of October 7, 2023 by Hamas terrorists was never orchestrated by Jews and the State of Israel, but by the ravenous instinct of Hamas to wide out the Jews and the State of Israel out of the face of the earth; the same heinous crime against humanity being perpetrated currently by Sokoto caliphate-sponsored and Federal Government-protected Muslim Fulani Bandits and armed herdsmen supported by Boko Haram and ISWAP against Christians in Nigeria.

Hamas (Harakat al-Muqawamah al-Islamiyyah) in their 2017 revised Charter informs us that: “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” In other words, the State of Israel will be wiped out of the world map.

In the same vein, the founder of the notorious Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, Imam Hassan Ahmed Abdel Rahman Muhammed al-Banna proclaimed his commitment to the inevitable extermination of the Jews and the State of Israel when he said: “Israel will be established and will stay established until Islam nullifies it as it nullified what was before it.”

But most atrociously revealing is Article Seven (7) of Hamas Charter which explicitly states in part:

“The time will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews (and kill them); until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: O Muslim! there is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him! This will not apply to the Gharqad, which is a Jewish tree (cited by Bukhari and Muslim).”

 

This was the satanic spirit with which the Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023, invaded the solemn religious celebrations and excitements of innocent Israelis and slaughtered over one thousand, two hundred people, while taking more than two hundred and fifty as hostages. Does that action not imply a naked act of terrorism? Ghazi Hamad came on Channels Television to insult Nigerian Christians by stating that the October 7, 2023 massacre of innocent and defenseless Jews while celebrating their religious festival was justified as a retaliatory attack for freedom, and the Nigerian political rubbish scavenger Femi Fani-Kayode is furthering the same insult by describing such a man and his people as “our brothers.”

 

Where in history is it recorded that Israeli security forces intentionally massacred civilian Palestinians, except those terrorists that disguise as ordinary people? But if Ghazi Hamad and Femi Fani-Kayode believe that the October 7, 2023 massacre and kidnapping of innocent defenseless Jews and Israelis are justified by the golden rule of retaliation in the fight for freedom, then they should equally accept the on-going war of retaliation within the same golden rule pretext.

 

If Femi Fani-Kayode believes because the Igbo of Nigeria, as Nigerian Christians are being subjected to today, experienced their own side of bitter pills pogrom and genocide, they should support the evil axis Muslim terrorism by supporting Hamas against Israel, he is no more and no less exhuming his deep-seated ignorance of history and corrupted sense of moral judgment.

 

According to him:

 

“It is an irony of fate that the overwhelming majority of the very same Igbo people who were slaughtered in their millions between 1967 and 1970 and who were subjected to the worst form of ethnic cleansing that Africa has ever seen are now openly applauding the State of Israel for committing genocide against the women and children of Gaza.”

What Femi Fani-Kayode failed to understand is that to majority of Nigerian Christians, the Palestinians are to Israel what the Fulani are to Nigeria today— the stranger unleashing terror on indigenous historically supported owners of the land. The land of Palestine which includes the State of Israel, West Bank, Gaza, and the current Kingdom of Jordan are the ancestral possessions of the Jews; while the Palestinians and their Arab nations have the Arabian Peninsula as their ancestral home, in the same way the Arab North Africans who pretend to be African by right of conquest are only indigenous to the Arabian Peninsula. The point in this instance and which is without prejudice to those Black Africans who profess Islam, is that only an indigenous Nigerian citizen under the diabolic spell of Fulani conquest Islam will support Hamas and their Arab kinsmen against the Jews and the State of Israel.

But the question Femi Fanu-Kayode failed to ask, is who were the perpetrators of those heinous crimes against the Igbo? Were they not the Muslim North led Fulani jihadists and supported by the Arabs? During the Nigerian civil war which Femi Fani-Kayode made reference to, the question again, is who supplied and piloted the Russian Mig Jet fighters and bombers the Nigerian Government used in the perpetration of the massacre? Were they not the same Arabs led by Egypt; bearing in mind that at the same time Nigeria was engaged in civil war against the Igbo, Israel was defending herself in the 1967 Six-Day War against the attack by the whole Arab nations?

Indeed without prejudice to the theory of Igbo-Jewish origins on which I have written extensively and which Femi Fani-Kayode knows nothing about, commonality of the historical experience of pogrom, genocide, anti-riots and hatred by their hosts is one fundamental reason why the Igbo will always support the Jews and Israel against Hamas and other Arabs. Both people are like the saying that birds of the same feathers flock together. The Jews are oppressed people round the world, in spite of their enormous contributions to the development of humanity and the modern world. Similarly, the Igbo are oppressed people round the Nigerian nation notwithstanding their enormous contributions to the development of the modern State of Nigeria.

Most remarkable is the fact that the State of Israel was responsible for the accelerated economic development of the immediate post-independent Nigeria through technical aid programmes particularly to the defunct Eastern, Midwestern and Western Regions of Nigeria, since Ahmadu Bello rejected Israel’s overtures, while all he could attract from Egypt and Saudi Arab were million copies of the Quran for distribution among the economically vulnerable citizens of Northern Nigeria.

Indeed the State of Israel was the first nation to give the new Nigerian nation a foreign loan of three million pounds for economic development; which again Ahmadu Bello refused to share from. Israel’s expertise made the three Southern Nigeria Regions to excel in agricultural development in both cash crop and food production. Most of those places carrying the image of Colleges of Agriculture in Southern Nigeria that later metamorphosed into Universities, started as Farm Settlement Programs initiated by the State of Israel after the Israeli Kibbutz system.

The Igbo, Yoruba and much of Southern Nigeria are not oblivious of this fact of positive historical impacts of the Jews and the State of Israel on the Nigerian nation. Those who were witnesses to the great development strides of Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe (1953 to 1959), and Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola and Dr. Michael Okpara (1960 to 1966), as well as Chief Dennis Osadebey (1964 to 1966) in their respective Southern Regions cannot deny the fact that the State of Israel was one of the major driving forces of positive development in Nigeria.

The Jews, if not brothers to the Igbo, are their trusted friends and thus they must always stand by the side of the Jews and the State of Israel. It does not matter what the Jews or State of Israel think of the Igbo as a group, whether in positive or negative terms; it does not matter if the claim of Igbo-Jewish origins is justified by historical facts; the point is that the Jews as a people and Israel as a nation provide] the Igbo and every Christian the sense of history, identity and unquestionable pride as Christians.

For this reason any person or group of persons who craves for the destruction of the State of Israel and the Jews is regarded as an inveterate enemy of the Igbo and the Nigerian Christians. This is the ground on which every Igbo sees himself as more sentimentally attached to the State of Israel than the present shaky edifice called Nigeria; and it is for the same reason the average Igbo young man would rather die fighting for Israel than his country Nigeria.

Suffice it to state that Israel and Arab World represent two contrasting political enigmas to Black Africa. One— Israel, representing a model of modern democracy and freedom, international protagonist of anti-terrorism, and unimaginable prowess in positive militarism with unimaginable store-house of modern scientific and technological expertise with the willingness to share without any neo-colonial strings attached; while the other—Arabs, represent a sea of authoritarianism, religious bigotry and fundamentalism, racial exclusivism, protagonists and exporters of international terrorism, with no laudable scientific and technological legacies to share or export to Black Africa.

 

The Jews had neither enslaved Black Africans nor treated them with racial derision; for they too had been both victims of slavery and racial stigmatization. The Arabs more than the Europeans, enslaved, dehumanized and treated Black Africans with racial disdain. The Trans-Atlantic Slave trade lasted for about 400 years and one could evidently see the positive imprints of that heinous trade through the presence of purely defined African nations and peoples in the Americas. Over one thousand years and still continuing Arab Slave trade in Africa, yet there is no visible positive Black African imprint in the whole Arab world. What happened to the millions of Black Africans enslaved and exported by the Arabs to the Middle-East? The day is coming when Black Africans will ask this question in a more formal way.

 

The climax of this evil is today represented by Hamas, and the majority of Arab nations are clearly not unaware of this fact; hence they discreetly support Israel in her ongoing morally justified war of penance against Hamas and all those Gazans who were then celebrating on the now devastated streets of Gaza City the awful October 7, 2023 massacre of innocent Jews. The Igbo say, “A na rapu ebe a na-echi ozo jebe ebe a na-aru agwu.” (One does not leave the noble Ozo title initiation ceremony for the dishonorable place of Agwu exorcism). The Igbo cannot leave the positive-minded and creative Jews to stand with the negative-minded, morally corruptible liabilities called Hamas. Femi Fani-Kayode should understand this fact.
