I read with unparalleled cataclysmic bewilderment the morally detestable Ohaneze Ndigbo communiqué released at the end of their meeting at Enugu on February 22, 2024, in which they morosely commanded Ndigbo to dissociate themselves from the proposed nationwide protest against the current illegal Federal Government led by the internationally discredited and morally decrepit President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu
Mr. Peter Obi
Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Does it surprise anyone that in the entire paragraphs of the communiqué, no reference was made to the denial of Igbo presidency in last Presidential election which Peter Obi of Labour Party evidently won? This is the absolute mark of political gamblers of Igbo future, Judas Iscariot spirit of Igbo leadership, and self-enslaved political minions of Muslim Fulani jihadists.

What could Ndigbo have expected from a group of self-serving, short-sighted, intellectually awkward and patriotically decadent band of clay-footed political giants masquerading as leaders of the so-called apex but highly corrupt and clawless Igbo socio-cultural organization being fed on the sacrificial slab of innocent Igbo blood by no other political vampire than Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State? Indeed the nearest to such reference was paragraph eight (8) which shamelessly states:

It was reiterated that since the 2023 presidential electoral matter has reached the Nigerian Supreme Court and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR has been declared the winner; and as law abiding citizens, we have therefore decided to support the Tinubu administration.

The question here is, if Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanyu and his beggarly and spineless Ohaneze Ndigbo are supporting Bola Ahmed Tinubu, does it mean every Igbo man or woman is supporting Bola Ahmed Tinubu? What moral credentials has Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu to make him think he can command the Igbo to follow him sheepishly into his deep political abyss, and with what political integrity as Igbo leader beyond the hopeless  political wavelength of Hope Uzodinma’s Imo State?

We saw many property and shops belonging to Ndigbo in Lagos State being destroyed without the least attempt by Chief Emmanuiel Iwuanyanwu and his Ohaneze Ndigbo quislings to speak out against such ethnically-inspired crime against humanity. Now Chief Iwuanyanwu and his Ohaneze Ndigbo want Ndigbo to support the same Federal Government that brought untold hardship, sufferings and wickedness to them just because they were paid huge sums of money to do so in manner of Judas Iscariot.

The fundamental question every morally conscious and historically discerning Igbo should ask himself is, does Ohaneze Ndigbo represent collective Igbo political aspirations and general interest? The answer is no. The second fundamental question is, who elected Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and his Fulani lackeys as leaders of Ohaneze Ndigbo and spokespersons of Ndigbo? The answer is nobody. The third fundamental question is, do Iwuanyanwu and his Ohaneze Ndigbo cronies have the powers and authority to command Ndigbo not to fight injustice anywhere in Nigeria? The answer is no.

As a young man working as a Civil Aviation Air Traffic Control Technician with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Department at Enugu Airport, Emene in the early 1980s; and an active youth supporter of both Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe-led Nigerian People’s Party (NPP) and Governor Jim Nwobodo’s Jim’s Vanguard, I had the memorable opportunity of closely studying Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu’s short-sighted and self-centered political mentality. I remember being thought as an enthusiastic secondary school physics student the two types of physical quantities—Scalar and Vector; in which a scalar quantity has magnitude but no direction; while a vector quantity has both magnitude and direction. In the case of Chief Iwuanyanwu who even studied civil engineering at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, his cumulative carriage and vision in as an Igbo leader clearly defines scalar political quantity.

The ten-paragraph communiqué without any doubt presents the lowest ebb of intellectual bastardry of the Igbo culture of value judgment, de-canonization  of traditional Igbo ethical values, gangrenous moral decadence, political debauchery and symptomatic saboteur syndrome of a band of people who call themselves Ohaneze Ndigbo, without anybody electing them.

Chief Iwuanyanwu and his Ohaneze cronies simply proved by the communiqué that it is either they are deficient of a sense of history as Igbo men or they have collected corrupted money from the Federal Government to sell the future of their people and generations yet unborn. Every paragraph of the resolution is constructed on recycled and outmoded contraptions of Igbo problem which goes further to expose their historical incapacity and questionable patriotic credentials to present themselves as Igbo leaders of worth.

The first paragraph of the resolution states:

“Members commended the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Engr. Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu (Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo) for his recent Message to Ndigbo  ‘that no Igbo group or community in Nigeria or in the Diaspora should join in a planned protest against the government of Nigeria.’”

In the first place, Chief Iwuanyanwu was never legally elected President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo. We were all witnesses to how he was singularly manipulated into the office by the Fulani lackey Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State after the death of Prof George Obiozor. Thus in terms of illegality and unconstitutionality of Chief Iwuanyanwu’s election, he is on the same criminal page with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Hope Uzodinma, whose elections were predicated on INEC criminality and judicial coup d’etat the Appeal and Supreme Courts of Nigeria. It we may ask, whose interest is Governor Hope Uzodinma currently representing and serving as Governor of Imo State, and whose interest do we expect Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu his stooge and political errand-boy to represent order than that of the Muslim Fulani oppressors of Ndigbo? Chief Iwuanyanwu and his Ohaneze quislings therefore can neither instruct nor command the Igbo on what is best for their political future in Nigeria.

In the second paragraph of the resolution, the communiqué states:

“Members appreciated the reasons adduced by the Igbo Leader; that Ndigbo have been at the receiving end in the affairs of the country and that all the entreaties to the various authorities for equity and justice towards the Igbo have fallen on deaf ears. For instance, the South East is the only geopolitical zone that has only five (5) states; and 95 local government areas while one other geopolitical zone has 188 local government areas. The above lingering injustice has cost the Igbo billions of financial losses. It has also cost us losses in both political patronages and legislative representations. This anomaly attracted the concerns of the members of the 2005 and 2014 political conferences but up till today, nothing has been done; among others.

So Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and his Ohaneze Ndigbo political scavengers are telling Ndigbo because Southeast has only 95 Local Government Areas and another geopolitical zone which they were afraid to name has 188 Local Government Areas they should not partake in the mass protest to save the soul of the Nigerian nation. Inukwa! So Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and his Ohaneze Ndigbo political scavengers believe that, by not participating in the mass protest, Bola Ahmed Tinubu will create additional Local Government Areas for the Southeast. So Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and his Ohaneze Ndigbo political scavengers are telling Ndigbo that the current mass economic hardship, hunger, and insecurity in Nigeria are not affecting Ndigbo.

Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has been on the political stage of Igboland and Nigeria for over forty years. The Igbo want him to tell them his own personal contributions in this matter of deficient number of Local Government Areas in the Southeast. Is this not a clear case of political pettiness, moral imbecility, homunculus political carriage and chronic saboteur syndrome on the part of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and his Ohaneze political contractors?

The third paragraph which mentioned Nnamdi Kanu is no doubt an honest confession of a band of Igbo saboteurs with decrepit mindset, cowardly political showmanship, and malfunctioning intellectual carriage. According to them:

“It is a common knowledge that the Sit at Home in the South East is because of the incarceration of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The Sit at Home has caused the Igbo and indeed most Nigerians unquantifiable losses in lives and properties. All the appeals to the federal government for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu have been rebuffed as an Igbo problem.”

If as they stated that “it is a common Knowledge that the Sit-at-Home order in the South East is because of the incarceration of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu”, what noticeable tangible effort has the Ohaneze Ndigbo made as the apex Igbo socio-political organization to ensure Nnamdi Kanu’s release in order to end the destructive sit-at-home menace? If as they shamelessly stated that all appeals made in respect of Nnamdi Kanu’s release were rebuffed by the Federal Government, is it not an enough reason for those particularly aggrieved by Nnamdi Kanu’s incarceration to turn out en mass for the mass protest to ensure that justice is done accordingly? Furthermore, is it not a clear case of political disability and connivance on the part of Chief Iwuanyanwu and Ohaneze Ndigbo for their inability to compel the same Federal Government they are purportedly coercing the Ndigbo to support to release Nnamdi Kanu?

The next paragraph that requires some bits of attention is paragraph four (4) which states inter alia:

It was noted that since there has remained an orchestrated conspiracy to alienate the Igbo from the affairs of the country, it will be foolhardy for the Igbo youths to present themselves as cannon fodders at this critical juncture in our political history.

By the way can Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu tell Ndigbo who used the many promising Igbo youth being massacred on daily basis in Southeast by the armed forces as cannon fodder? So because the Igbo feel alienated under the present political dispensation, the only solution would be to further alienate themselves from the political thoroughfare of liberation? Is it not foolhardy on the part of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and his gutless Ohaneze Ndigbo to think that the best way to solve the Igbo political alienation is to avoid presenting themselves as cannon fodder?

If Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and his decadent Ohaneze Ndigbo had a sense of critical history, they should realized that this was the same cowardly position Ohaneze Ndigbo adopted during the post-June 12, 1993 democratic struggles that saw the Yoruba on the forefront while the Igbo including Chief Iwuanyanwu played the disgraceful role of collaborators to both Generals Ibrahim Babanginda and Sani Abacha; and when the chips were down they expected the same Military Government to abandon those who led the struggles that forced them out of office and transfer political power the Igbo who sheepishly and selfishly collaborated with them. The Muslim Fulani and current APC leaders know that an average Igbo politician cannot be be trusted except as a political tool to destroy his people for the sake of money. Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and his Ohaneze Ndigbo are at it again.

Finally the most laughable and ironically insulting to the Igbo is paragraph five (5) which calls on the Igbo to adjust to the sufferings and poverty created by one man because they as Ndigbo are accultured to suffering. This paragraph states:

“We reviewed with intense passion, the level of unemployment, poverty, hardships, especially the rising cost of goods and services in Nigeria, the rate of depreciation of Nigerian currency and the excruciating effect on the masses; and reminded Ndigbo that they should quickly readjust themselves to the reality of the times and that the Igbo have passed through the worst of conditions in the past.”

Shamelessly enough, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and his Ohaneze Ndigbo Fulani political boot-lickers acknowledge the fact of “the level of unemployment, poverty, hardships, especially the rising cost of goods and services in Nigeria, the rate of depreciation of Nigerian currency and the excruciating effect on the masses.” But to them, the Igbo being sacrificial lambs of the Nigerian nation, “should quickly readjust themselves to the reality of the times and that the Igbo have passed through the worst of conditions in the past.” Are all Igbo traders and businessmen? How does Iwuanyanwu expect an average Igbo low-income earner, petty trader and the army of unemployed to adjust to the realities of the sufferings and poverty? Is there any separate market reserved for the Igbo man by Iwuanyanwu and his Ohaneze Ndigbo?

Ironically, those Igbo political kingpins who shamelessly collaborated with the Fulani oligarchy to undermine the June 12, 1993 democratic principles—Chief Arthur Nzeribe of Association of Better Nigeria fame and Daniel Kanu were from Imo State, just as Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu. Today it is the turn of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu to lead the anti-masses collaborators movement in support of an oppressive and illegal regime. To say the Igbo are in trouble with Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu an Imo State man at helms of Ohaneze Ndigbo affair is a truism founded on the morally political stinking credentials of his State Governor Hope Uzodinma, who appointed him; and who was in turn appointed by the Muslim political caucus in Nigeria.

This even further explains why the current leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) led by another native of Imo State Mr.  Joe Ajaero, will never product positive result in its struggles for better conditions of service and justice for its workers. I am not trying to insinuate that Ndigbo Imo State are susceptible to sabotage of collective Igbo interest, but I became more worried when I discovered that the number of Ndigbo Imo State converting to Islam on the offer of little amount of money and bogus promises of better life is increasing with geometric progression.
