MUSLIM FULANI HERDSMEN ATTACKED THREE EKITI STATE TRADITIONAL RULERS, KILL TWO, ONE ESCAPED
Ado- Ekiti – Two traditional rulers in Ekiti State have been killed by suspected armed Muslim Fulani herdsmen.
The two Oba were Oba Olatunde Olusola, the Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area and Oba David Ogunsola, the Elesun of Esun Ekiti in Ajoni, Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
Eyewitnesses told Irohin Oodua that the Alara of Ara in Ikole Local Government Area escaped when the armed men accosted them and attempted to forcefully take them away. The incident took place on Monday 29 January, 2024 evening between Oke-Ako and Ipao Ekiti, located in Ajoni Local Government Area.
The traditional rulers were coming from security meeting when the incident happened. “They were traveling together. The armed herdsmen stopped them and rained bullets on them. They took their personal belongings and dragged their bodies into the bush” one eye witness told Irohin Oodua.

On the 29th of January,2024. The suspected Fulani herdsmen that heavily arms with sophisticated weapon attacked three (3) prominent Kings in OKE-AKO and IPOA EKITI road in AJONI Local Council Development Area. AYEDUN-EKITI
The three (3) kabiyesi are
1. Elesun of Esun Ekiti. Ikole Local Government
2. Alara of Ara Ekiti. Ikole Local Government
3. Onimojo of imojo Ekiti. Oye Local Government
The Elesun of Esun Ekiti with Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti were killed on attempt to kidnap
The Alara of Ara Ekiti was narrowly escaped at scene without sustained any injury or be scratched.
The deceased Kings has been taken to the mortuary at general hospital ikole Ekiti.
