The Chairman of Mwagavul Youth Movement Pushit district in Mangu Local Government area in Plateau State, Zughumnan Ningo reacting to the attack on his village has noted that approximately 13 villages have been deserted and are now occupied by Fulani Herdsmen. He highlighted that the persistent crisis in the region from May 2016 to 2023 has been characterized by ongoing attacks and threats. He conveyed the gravity of the situation, stating that the region has experienced significant casualties.

He said in an interview while speaking with TVC correspondent, ”Since 2016 May to 2023, we have encountered this kind of crisis. And from then, we have been receiving attacks here and there. As I speak to you, this is just a tip of it that you have seen. About 13 villages were deserted and the Fulani herdsmen are the ones that have taken over those places. We have been receiving so many text messages and information that they are going to carry out an attack. Some of them, we find out that it is a rumour but some of them are being carried out. Right from May this year up to this moment, the number of people that were killed during this crisis are about 53 people.”
