Many people were reported killed when Boko Haram insurgents ambushed passengers traveling along the ever dangerous Maiduguri-Gamboru highway that connects Nigeria to the neighboring Cameroon and Chad Republics. The road which traverses a lonely vast land has been the center of Boko Haram and ISWAP activities, defying every attempt by the Nigerian security forces to make the highway safe for travelers
